Hawkfest
What is Hawkfest?
Hawkfest is a generously PTA-sponsored, annual event (in late May or early June) designed to bring together the Huff community for three hours of fun, food, games, activities, prizes, and socializing.  All games, activities, and prizes are free!  Food and themed T-shirts area available for purchase.

In 2009, the theme was Wild West Hawkfest featuring a Karen Quest Cowgirl Show, mechanical bucking bronco rides, a double-inflatable slide, a rock-climbing wall, a real horse, panning for gold, line-dancing lessons, a Cake Walk, many other fun activities and food catered by Armadillo Willy's all in a nicely decorated Wild West setting.  In 2008, the theme was "Huff Hawks Take Flight" and every classroom came up with an amazing, fun activity including such things as live remote-controlled award-winning airplane demonstrations, a Cake Flight, a rock-climbing wall, a double-inflatable slide, face-painting, a balloon lady, a bean-bag toss, an IPhoto booth, a Fish Pond, and many more! In 2007, we celebrated the fact that the 465 Huff students were born in 24 different countries with a "Hawkfest World Tour" theme.  Each country was represented with an activity such as Tae-Kwon Do demonstrations in Korea, Chopstick Challenge in China, Balancing Act in South Africa, Cake Walk in the French bakery, and sliding in Canada.  There were approximately 700 people in attendance and over 100 volunteers!   In 2006, it was a wild time at the "Hawkfest World Zoo"!  You get the idea.  Fun!  Fun!  Fun!
